Aleksandra Sobieska visits Munich for scientific exchange
During her time in Munich, Aleksandra undertook a short-term research project under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Battich.
As a result of her engagement in the EpiCrossBorders exchange, Aleksandra developed a new skill set and learnt about experimental techniques, she hadn’t previously been exposed to.
Reflecting on her experience, Aleksandra shared:
"My research visit at Helmholtz Munich was a very enriching experience. Coming from a computational background in 3D genomics, it was an amazing opportunity to learn more about the experimental techniques allowing us to probe the chromatin organisation and be inspired by interesting research discussions with my colleagues. This visit gave me a new outlook on how to approach bioinformatics analyses and chromatin folding phenomena, which will further influence my career journey in computational biology.”
Aleksandra is just one of our students who completed an exchange this year. We will be posting more from their experiences of research abroad in the coming months!
