EpiCrossBorders Symposium 2026

The 2026 EpiCrossBorders Symposium was hosted by Edinburgh University. It was a week of innovation, discovery and collaboration

A cornerstone of the EpiCrossBorders Week is the strong and long‑standing collaboration between the University of Edinburgh and Helmholtz Munich. Each year, this partnership comes to life through a joint symposium that brings together students and principal investigators from both institutions, creating space for meaningful exchange, fresh ideas, and lasting academic connections.

This year’s EpiCrossBorders Week took us to Edinburgh, where our students had the opportunity to step into the world of innovation through a Biotech Start‑Up Ideation Workshop. Working in teams, they explored how scientific discoveries can be translated into real‑world applications, gaining valuable insight into entrepreneurship and biotech innovation.

The workshop was followed by a two‑day symposium, during which students and program PI's presented their research, shared perspectives, and engaged in lively discussions. The week offered a rich and inspiring experience that truly reflected the spirit of EpiCrossBorders.
